My list of 20 must watch movies

Movies have always been a major part of my life, from making silly home movies with my brothers as a kid to eventually getting a degree in film! I also got the opportunity to study film at UCLA and learn from industry professionals themselves. Not only do I enjoy making films, I also love watching them and appreciating all the hard work that went into making them. In fact, I don't just watch them, I analyse them, looking at the mise en scene + noticing the cinematography and wondering why things were done a certain way and what the director is trying to tell us. I will admit though, I do also enjoy watching the occasional Will Ferrel Netflix original so I can switch off - no deeper meanings in those films!

For years I have been collating a list of my favourite movies, with many of them staying on the list throughout the years. The list ranges from history bio pics, to foreign cinema to documentary to action to some quirky indie flicks too, it's got it all.

So without further adieu, here are some movies that you really need to watch, and not just add to your "to watch" list, I mean actually watch!
