'The Cool Room' on Holland Street truely captures the essence of Freo - laid back yet effortlessly groovy. Decked out with funky retro chairs and colourful table tops, this cafe offers people a place to soak up what Fremantle is really about.

Whether it's a hot + sunny day or overcast (like the day I went), 'The Cool Room' is the place to go for your Freo fix. They have everything from funky furniture, interesting wall art and delicious food + coffee. The outside umbrellas will protect you from the blazing sun, or if it's cloudy, they are just pretty to look at. What I love most about this cafe is how it's not at all pretentious, yet it would have every right to be, and has such a welcoming nature. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is just what you want for a weekend morning.

Whilst waiting for my food, I couldn't resist staring + appreciating the vintage decor. Each chair and table was totally unique and full of character. The thought of stealing these funky pieces definitely went through my head...but alas I resisted. I couldn't help but wonder what each piece's story was and where it had inhabited before it found its home on Holland street.
I decided to stick to what I know and ordered an almond milk iced latte - surprise surprise - and a delicious bacon + avo panini. However my friend decided to spice things up and got this mouth watering dish below, which was the halloumi bruschetta - with a flat white on the side of course!
This awesome wall art was displayed right at the entrance, with other wonderful and interesting artwork scattered on the walls throughout. Next to the till, you can also purchase vintage postcards which is an awesome touch!

Once you've finished your meal, you can head right next door to visit the wildly eclectic vintage store, where you can find things from vintage posters, furniture, fur hats, comic books and..well anything!
